Faster than a tracing hand, this powerful software is the raster to vector converter you need for Illustrator (Adobe), CorelDraw (Corel), Flash (Macromedia), WebDraw (Jasc), Sodipodi (freeware) and any vector-based software. Vector Eye instantly converts scanned black-and-white or color raster images (bmp, jpg, tiff, png) into editable vector files (svg, ps, eps).

VM BUFFERING IN PHOTOSHOP CS3 On Macintosh computers, Photoshop can directly access up to about 3.5GB. When there is more than 3.5GB of document data, Photoshop writes data to its scratch files as necessary. On a computer with 4GB or less of RAM, the data is transferred directly between the scratch files on disk and the Photoshop RAM. On a computer with more than 4GB of RAM, Photoshop tells the operating system to use the extra RAM as a buffer for the Photoshop scratch file. In this case, when document data no longer fits in the 3.5GB of Photoshop RAM and is written to the scratch file, the operating system stores it in the extra RAM and can retrieve it from there much faster than it could be read from disk. This lets Photoshop take advantage of more than 4GB of RAM to significantly increase performance with very large documents.
When this scratch file buffering is turned on with Mac OS X v.10.3 or 10.4, the operating system periodically pauses execution of Photoshop for up to several seconds at a time. This can cause problems when painting. Installing the plug-in causes Photoshop to disable the buffering so the pauses do not occur. It also means that Photoshop only takes advantage of the 3.5GB of RAM it can directly access, so performance with very large documents will decrease.
VM BUFFERING OPTIONAL PLUG-INS
You can chose for Photoshop to disable or force VM Buffering via two optional plug-ins. If you use very large documents and have no problems with pauses during painting, you should install the force VM Buffering plug-in. If you do not use very large documents or have problems with pauses during painting, we recommend that you install the Disable VM Buffering plug-in.
To install either of the VM Buffering optional plug-ins:
Make sure the Adobe Photoshop application is not currently running.
Install the plug-in by dragging it into the Plug-Ins folder inside the Adobe Photoshop CS3 folder. The full path is: /Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS3/Plug-Ins.
Launch Photoshop. The VM Buffering plug-in(s) will be loaded

Flash CS3 Professional, the first version of Flash released under Adobe’s aegis, is arguably the most dramatically enhanced program in the new CS3 suite. CS3 integration
In Flash CS3, Adobe unveils a revamped interface, with features like object alignment, color, swatches, and scaling, all accessed using Illustrator-, Photoshop-, and InDesign-style panels. The Flash Tools panel shares icons and even keyboard shortcuts (like P for the Pen tool, T for the Type tool, and V for the Selection tool) with its CS3 cousins, Photoshop (4 mice) and Illustrator (4.5 mice). Other thoughtful interface improvements include the ability to use your mouse’s scroll wheel to scan through sets of layers in the timeline, and the ability to create tabbed panels—again as in Photoshop and Illustrator CS3. Professional digital photography has been a reality for a while now but the big-name developers have been slow to catch up. With different software like iViewMedia Pro or Photo Mechanic filling in the missing pieces of file organizing and metadata editing workflow and different apps providing the ability to do quality RAW conversion, it's a relatively new thing to have one program that does it all and does it well
With Apple's Aperture and now Adobe's Lightroom, it seems the big boys are finally ready to fight over who is going to be at the center of the digital creative arena. But Adobe isn't playing copycat here—and I think their release of a public beta was an attempt to send that message. It was pretty clear when the beta was released that this is not just a slapped-together product—Adobe's had this in the works for a while.

Adobe Illustrator CS3 is the best vector drawing program on the market. This statement would be more impressive if Adobe hadn't purchased and read the last rites to Illustrator's only serious competition, Macromedia FreeHand. Luckily, however, Adobe's virtual monopoly hasn't led the company to grow complacent. In the CS3 version of Illustrator, it has focused on improving integration with another acquisition, Flash (70 percent of Flash users also use Illustrator, according to Adobe), and on providing a number of small improvements that add up to a big difference in the program's usability. Nothing here quite approaches the status of "killer feature" the way CS2's Live Trace capabilities did, but CS3 is still a worthy upgrade to Illustrator

On Tuesday, Adobe announced the third version of its Creative Suite family of digital media production applications. In addition to the overhaul of the user interfaces one would expect in a release such as this, each individual program in the suite has been updated to capitalize on popular technologies like Ajax, Flex and Camera RAW. Also, this is the first version of the suite designed to run on Windows Vista and Intel Mac hardware. Here are a few highlights. A bevy of powerful programs come with CS3, but presenting that power on the desktop can create a mess of a user interface. Photoshop and Flash have undergone the most thorough face lifts: All those panels soaking up space can be reduced to small icons that expand when clicked on, and Macintosh users can now work with all the windows and tool palettes docked together, just like their Windows friends. Unfortunately, these UI features are not implemented consistently for the other CS3 programs, which can result in hand-to-mouse confusion when switching between apps.
